A driver assigned to Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu was on Tuesday evening injured after being shot by an unknown gunman in Nairobi.
The driver, Police Constable Titus Musyoka, was shot outside Marsabit Plaza along Ngong Road while in DCJ Mwilu’s official vehicle.
He was injured after being shot on the shoulder and being treated at Nairobi Women’s Hospital. The driver was also robbed of his gun.
Justice Mwilu was not in the car during the incident that happened at 4.30pm.
Dagoretti OCPD Rashid Mohammed said police treating the incident as a robbery but investigation are ongoing.
The shooting comes barely a day before the Supreme Court judges convene of Wednesday to hear a case where three petitioners are seeking stop or postpone Thursday’s repeat presidential election.
