The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has changed announced a new date for the repeat presidential election ordered by the Supreme Court.

The electoral body changed the date to October 26 from the originally announced October 17.

Earlier in the day, the Cabinet approved a Sh10-billion appropriation budget for the repeat exercice.

In addition, OT MORPHO the company that is supplying the system to be used in the transmission of results is now pushing for external audit of its servers used on the now annulled August 8 polls.

The French company is maintaining that the IEBC has gone silent on proposals to have audit.

The company had on Monday expressed doubts that it will be ready for the original October 17 polls date.
