The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has set a timetable for the new elections sending Kenyans back to the polls on October 17th.

Unlike the last elections, only President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga will be on the ballot along with their running mates William Samoei Ruto and Kalonzo Musyoka.

Earlier today, Education CS Fred Matiangi had written to IEBC requesting that repeat poll be held before October 17 to avoid disruption of exam calendar.

The repeat elections are being held after the Supreme Court of Kenya annulled the results of the August 8 elections.

The court ordered the IEBC to conduct repeat polls within 60 days.
