Incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta has taken an early lead in Kenya’s general elections. Uhuru is currently capturing 58 per cent of the vote while the NASA flagbearer Raila Odinga is capturing 42 per cent. The other contenders are amassing less than 1 per cent of the vote.
Mr Kenyatta has 904,477 votes while Mr Odinga has 656,293 votes.
Results trickling from Central Kenya have pushed Uhuru ahead with some countries giving him as high as 98 per cent of the vote. Nyeri has so far given Uhuru 98.34 per cent of the votes cast in the county. Siaya County has given 99.15 per cent of its votes to Mr Odinga.
