NASA is now a resistance movement, declares Raila Odinga in “big announcement”

Raila Odinga has revealed his eagerly awaited big announcement ahead of Thursday’s repeat presidential poll.

Mr Odinga who had kept the country waiting for the announcement on the eve of the repeat polls told his supporters that the National Super Alliance (NASA) had transformed from a political coalition to “a resistance movement”.

The opposition leader made the remarks to his supporters at Uhuru Park on Wednesday.

He further insisted that NASA would not respect a government that would be elected following the Thursday polls which the party has withdrawn from.

“We will not respect a government that was not elected according to the Constitution,” he said.

“We will not respect Uhuru, Ruto, regional commissioners, county commissioners and all that trash…”

He asked NASA supporters to hold prayers away from polling stations or stay at home on Thursday as Kenya holds what he termed as a “sham repeat presidential election”.
