Police nab husband of househelp as prime suspect in Thika millionaire Wambui’s murder


Thika Police have arrested a man believed to be involved in the murder of Thika millionaire businesswoman Joyce Wambui.

Morris Mutwiri, 37, who is the husband to the house help who was working at the businesswoman’s house was arrested on Tuesday in Embu town.

He was taken to Gatanga for questioning after the arrest.

At the scene of the arrest, detectives from Makuyu Flying squad, recovered a blood stained hoe and a crow bar which are believed to have been used to commit the murder.

Interestingly, it was Mutwiri who led police to the items which were hidden in Wambui’s house. They were hidden in a cupboard.

The slain businesswoman was killed on February 27 by a gang who did not steal anything from her house.

Eight arrests have been made so far in connection with the murder.
