Kiss 100’s radio presenter Shaffie Weru takes home Sh100,000 for each episode of the new K24 show Maisha.

The amount according to The Word may make Shaffie the highest paid Kenyan TV actors after Papa Shirandula who is reportedly raking in Sh80,000 a week.

In an interview with The Star’s The Word he plays the character by the name Don Juan.

“I am boys with the boss played by XFM’s Nick Ndeda and he doesn’t know it but I have slept with his wife,” Shaffie told The Word, “I will be in a number of episodes, the first of which I shot on Friday afternoon.”

The show produced by Kenyan media personality Julie Gichuru and Nick Otieno premiered on K24 TV on Monday, March 18 at 10pm. The show follows the story of a jilted woman who hires a hitman to kill her ex-boyfriend’s current girlfriend so that she can be with the man again.

It was initially shot as a short film but the producers decided to shoot it into a TV series. It was nominated for the Best Short Film at the Kalasha Awards 2011.

The executive producers of the show are Julie Gichuru and Nick Otieno.

Maisha is written by Andrew Odera who also doubles as an actor in the show, and directed by Mark G. Kihara.
