Slain Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission ICT Manager Chris Msando struggled with his killers before they eventually killed him.
The state of his body points to a painful death with both hands containing wounds and the right forearm having been broken.
There are also visible signs of injury on his back, his stomach and left side of the head.
There was blood oozing from his nose though there were no soigné of injury to his face.
The attackers seemed to have been strangling him before eventually bludgeoning him.
IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati was able to view the body and said that indications were that he had been tortured.
He said this was a clear cut case of murder and that a post-mortem had to be carried out to determine the cause of his death.
Msando’s body was found in Nguriunditu, Kikuyu off Waiyaki Way, about 2km from the main road. It lay alongside a body of an identified woman.
The police took the two bodies to the city mortuary at around 11 am on Saturday.
The bodies were found hours after Mr Msando’s vehicle was found behind Thika Road Mall, off the Thika Superhighway in Nairobi.
Police said they found the grey Land Rover Discovery behind the Thika Road Mall on the Thika Superhighway and towed it to Kasarani Police Station.
