A teenager has been arrested after being found with a phone linked to the murder of IEBC manager Chris Msando.
The 16 year old was found with a phone which was reportedly used to send threatening messages to the late Msando. She is being held at the Muthaiga police station.
She was arrested by DCI officers at her aunt’s house in Awendo, Migori county on Wednesday and her parents are yet to appear in Nairobi to record a statement.
Among the details that the police are investigating is what details she used to register her line.
The phone is said to be among three used to send Msando threatening messages that were recorded at Central Police Station.
Msando was early this month found dead in Muguga forest in Kikuyu along with the body of 21-year-old Carol Ngumbu .
He had been reported by the IEBC as missing a day before his body was discovered and taken to City Mortuary.
An autopsy conducted by Government pathologist Johansen Oduor revealed that Msando was strangled to death. He said Msando had incisions on his right arm but the rest of his body was intact.
