Central Bank boss Dr Patrick Njoroge, says No to posh house and ride in a motorcade.
The man in charge of Kenya’s money has turned down the offer to live in an expansive home in Nairobi’s Muthaiga and ride in a motorcade. Dr Patrick Ngugi Njoroge, who took over as Central Bank of Kenya governor last week, will instead be housed in communal accommodation in Nairobi’s Loresho estate with his fellow members of Opus Dei (Latin Work of God), an institution of the Catholic church. Come midnight tonight, July 2, 2015, major changes in Kenya’s visa policy will come into place. Unlike in the past when many nationalities were able to get their visa on arrival in Nairobi or Mombasa, intending visitors will now have to apply for an e-Visa in advance, with processing days taking as much as a week. Kenya is set to roll out a multi-million shilling global campaign within the next one month in its latest bid to reverse a two-year drop in tourist numbers. Brussels Airlines to quit Nairobi route on October 24
Belgian airline Brussels Airlines will stop its flights to Nairobi beginning October 24, following what it attributed to a change in strategy. “Brussels Airlines would like to inform you that, due to a new strategy within the Lufthansa Group, our service between Nairobi and Brussels will cease as from 24 October 2015,” country manager Pierre Declerck said in a statement.
