Former NTV presenter Janet Kanini Ikua passes on

Former NTV presenter Janet Kanini Ikua has died.

According to her family, Ms Ikua, 38, who was battling stage four lung cancer passed on Saturday morning.

Early last year, she had announced that she was cancer free after a series of treatment.

She is survived by her husband and two children

She had taken to social media to let her fans know that an MRI conducted on her had revealed no signs of cancer. The lesions in her liver, abdomen, bones, lymph nodes and lungs had cleared.

“My dear friends, relatives, colleagues, supporters, prayer warriors. I have wonderful news! Our prayers have been answered! I am redeemed from the affliction of cancer!” she posted.

She thanked Kenyans for the support they had shown her during her journey after diagnosis. She also gave a special tribute to her husband who she had just revealed to that the doctors had given her four months to live.

Kenyans took to social media to pay tribute to Ms Ikua terming her a couragous.

NTV presenter Larry Madowo tweeted “My friend [Kanini] breathed her last this morning.”
