Migori Governor’s bodyguard shoots Joho’s bodyguard during a chaotic ODM rally


Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s bodyguard was shot and injured by a bodyguard attached to Migori’s Governor Okoth Obado during a chaotic ODM rally on Monday.

The developments occurred as Governor Obado made good on his threat not to allow ODM to hold any rallies in Migori.

Doing the dirty work himself, Obado arrived at the venue of the ODM rally at Posta grounds just as Kisumu Senator Anyang Nyong’o was speaking.

The crowd reacted upon seeing and hurled water bottles, stones and shoes him as he approached the podium.

In the ensuing melee, Obado’s guards fired in the air and one bullet went through a VIP seat in an area where dignitaries were seated.

Governor Obado accused Joho and Siaya Senator James Orengo of not informing him of the rally.

He aid that Joho is a deputy party leader and should be highly neutral. He lamented that Joho inaded his territory and kept him out of the programme.

On Sunday night, ODM’s new Migori county office was petrol bombed at ahead of its official launch today.
