Kenyans on social media expressed shock over a hotel bill which shows a customer paying Sh550 for one chapati.
The customer who incurred the bill at Hotel La Mada in Nairobi paid Sh1,650 for three chapatis which to many seemed like an overkill.
Kenyans pointed out that the delicacy costs about Sh10 in the informal sector and that there was no justification for the price. Some eateries go as high as Sh100 but none has charged as high as the bill circulating online shows.
Here is a sampling of Kenyans’ reactions on Twitter.
