Lawyer Miguna Miguna was arrested as police used force to break into his Runda home in Nairobi on Friday but freed on a Sh50,000 cash bail.

Miguna was arrested three days after he and Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang administered an “oath” to opposition leader Raila Odinga at Uhuru Park.

Kajwang was arrested on Wednesday for his role.

Miguna stamped the “oath” document as the self-declared ‘general’ of the outlawed National Resistance Movement.

However, the High Court ordered his release after a suit was filed by his lawyers John Khaminwa, Nelson Havi, Peter Kaluma and Edwin Osundwa.

Justice James Wakiaga who ordered his release set a cash bail of Sh50,000 cash bail and ordered Miguna to present himself in court on Monday.

Before the arrest on Friday morning, Miguna reported that an “assassination squad” was looking for him at his home.

He claimed that the squad had bombed his house and broken everything.

“They are searching all rooms. It’s an assassination squad. I can’t speak. They are still here … looking for me,” he had earlier said via text.
