American reality TV cast member Shamea Morton and her Kenyan fiance held a traditional Kenyan ceremony in preparation for their upcoming nuptials in July.

Shamea who is a cast member in the reality show Real Housewives of Atlanta and her fiance Gerald Mwangi took part in a Kikuyu dowry and traditional wedding commonly known as ngurario.

The bride-to-be posted a photo of the two of them on Instagram donning Kikuyu traditional clothing during the ceremony.

“This past weekend was my ‘Kuracia & Ngurario’ (Dowry & Traditional Kikuyu Wedding Ceremony). It was BEAUTIFUL!” Shamea captioned the photo. “We were surrounded by so many of our friends and family! My father in law gave me the name ‘Mumbi’- she was regarded as mother of the Kikuyu people. We are looking forward to our Western ceremony in Kenya in July!!!

WEDDING

The two lovebirds will have their wedding in Nyeri in on July 22, and the reception will be held on Mount Kenya. She hopes that her RHOA cast members who include Kenya Moore, Kandi Burruss, Todd Tucker, Cynthia Bailey, and Porsha Williams will be able to witness the ceremony in Kenya.
