Tatu City is planning on building a posh upmarket estate that is set to rival other upmarket leafy suburbs of Muthaiga and Karen.
The exclusive upmarket neighbourhood is being planned for Kiambu and will be constructed in the most prime part of the Kijani Ridge which is the satellite city’s 5,000-acre residential land in the area.
The land is Tatu City’s upcoming mixed-use development of a satellite city that will feature high-end homes, private schools, offices, shopping malls, hospitals, hotels, light industries and entertainment spots.
The residential zone is subdivided into 439 plots and sits on 250 acres.
In what seems to be a portrayal of exclusivity, the proposed top-end estate has been given a code name — low density area — and is being targeted for few deep-pocketed aspiring homeowners.
Construction in the residential land and Tatu City has designed the construction of apartments to have them closer to the road, followed by bungalows and villas on half and a quarter-acre plots.
The proposed exclusive estate will be deep inside and will constitute homeowners on more than one acre each.
The cost of the project is not yet known but with each homeowner expected to sit on an acre of land, this would mean parting with about Sh32million before factoring in the cost of construction.
The homeowner could easily cough up Sh100 million, depending on its size and design.
