Christine Mairu issued the plea as the search for her missing daughter continues.
“If they saw her and they have a clue of anything that might help us to figure out where she is, or if they saw her and she was in any kind of distress that we did not know about just give us any leads that might help us to identify where she is,” she said.
Mumbi was last seen on Thursday after leaving for classes at the St Louis University where she is a student. The 20 year old student is a third year student at the college.
Mrs Mairu said that school may have been stressing her but she was loved and respected.
Her last known whereabouts was the Illinois side of the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge where she normally frequented for sightseeing.
Surveillance cameras picked up a trail of Mumbi on the Illinois side of the bridge. Since there are no cameras on the Missouri side, it’s not known whether she actually entered the Missouri side.
Her gold colored Toyota Corolla was found in Madison County, Illinois.
Mrs Mairu said that her daughter who disappeared last Thursday is greatly loved and was the envy of many
“She was someone who was looked at as a very good girl,” said Mairu. “Even in our Kenyan community she was envied by a lot of people because she was very nice.”
